John Shades, 17 February 2019
Part of the Rhythm series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

In this sermon John wraps up our series on Rhythm. Rhythm is important as is gratitude for what we have been given. Here John focuses specifically on 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 highlighting that Paul does not merely suggest that we give thanks, but that it should be a regular pattern of our Christian lives. John also points out the imperatives behind rejoicing, praying, and thankfulness. Also pinpointed is that we are not to be thankful for the difficulties we are experiencing but, for the recognition that in the midst of said circumstances that the Lord is there. John finishes off by saying that we would have joy if we just rejoiced, we would be thankful if we would just give thanks.
